Patchouli essential oil is obtained from the fresh patchouli herbs. Being a fragrant herb, the extracted oils retain its odor after it is obtained by rubbing the leaves. The extracted oil is light in color if extraction is carried out with stainless steel vessel and is dark in color if obtained on an iron vessel, however, the quality remains unchanged.
